About Buddy HackettLeonard Hacker, better known as Buddy Hackett, was a famous American comedian, singer, and actor.With his name included in a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Buddy Hackett left a legacy of his own after putting a smile on everyone’s faces with his hilarious acts.Buddy Hackett had his first fundamental role in the film ‘King Of The Pins’, where he performed in a ten-minute reel in 1950; it was not much, but enough to spark Hackett’s film career. Born in the twin city of New York, Brooklyn, Buddy Hackett enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II for three years. Following this, Hackett got his first job in the Pink Elephant, a club in Brooklyn. During his time at the Pink Elephant, he changed his name from Leonard Hacker to Buddy Hackett. He performed several shows in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Hackett also got a chance to perform on Broadway in ‘Lunatics And Lovers’, where Broadway director Max Liebman was impressed by his performance and put him in two television specials.In 1953, Buddy Hackett performed one of his best nightclub routines, ‘The Chinese Waiter’, wherein he ridiculed the frustration and impersonated the heavy dialect of a Chinese waiter in a busy restaurant.
