Her appearance was short-lived, but Donna wasn’t on the unemployment line for long; in 1978, she won the role of Donna Garland, one of Judy Garland’s older sisters, in the biopic ‘Rainbow’. ‘Rainbow’ was directed by Jackie Cooper and won a Primetime Emmy Award.In 1977, Donna’s star had risen sufficiently for ABC to give her, her own show, ‘Angie’, in which she had the leading role, while Robert Hays (Airplane!) and Debralee Scott co-starred.
